Russia's New MIG-41 Stealth Interceptor, 6th Generation Aircraft

Around 2025, Russia's advanced Mig-41 stealth fighter will have launched for the first occasion. Mikoyan (MIG), a Moscow-based aircraft manufacturer, has been currently designing of next stealth fighters from 2013. According to several reports, aircraft  Operator would be capable of achieving speed over Mach Four or above.

The country has high expectations from this long range bomber, which will be a successor to the prolific Soviet era Mig -31 interceptor.

The fighter, according to reports, is still in the development stage. Russia has relied on the Mig -31 Foxhound, an incredibly powerful, long-range supersonic fighter, to safeguard its enormous airspace for years.

The two-seater aircraft, which is based on the Mig -25 Foxbat, has a top speed of Mach 2.83. While existing Mig -31 jets have been modified with cutting-edge technology, the fact that production has been halted since 1994 has remained a source of anxiety for the Russians.

Despite the fact that the Mig-31s will be in service into the 2030s, the new Mig-41s offer a way to solve that problem.

According to the Russian aviation news source Avia Pro, the sixth generation interceptor could fly as soon as 2025.

According to the publication, the new fighter's first prototype would be finished by 2023, followed by a series of ground testing. The fighter will take to the air in the next two years if the procedure goes properly.

Only then will the Russian Armed Forces be able to accept the PAK DPs into service, which might happen as early as 2028.

A Russian analyst corroborated the Mig-41 report, saying that the government was certainly working on a successor to the Foxhound.

According to Russian defence analyst Vasily Kashin, there have been some discussions and preliminary study towards the construction of a Mig-31 successor_ but it is still in its early phases.

Russia is concentrating on the development of its fifth-generation stealth fighter plane. The PAK-FA fighter jet programme includes the Sukhoi SU-57 or T-50 air superiority fighter.

The new Mig-41, on the other hand, is a step forward from the SU-57 fighters, and will be more in line with the US Air Force's future sixth generation fighter jet, which is being built under the Next Generation Air Dominance project (NGAD).

According to Russian media claims, the Mig-41 fighter could one day be converted into an unmanned combat aircraft. Three years ago, during the Defense Exhibition "Army 2017," there were rumours that the Mig-41 will be a completely new aircraft, with entirely new technologies for operations in the Arctic area.

The fighter will be outfitted with more advanced stealth technologies and the capacity to transport a huge number of weapons. It will also improve the capability of operating with a large intercept radius.

The new fighter, according to the Russian publication Izvestia, will be able to intercept hypersonic missiles. It would be equipped with a multipurpose long-range interceptor missile system that could fire a variety of sub-missiles.

According to media sources, the fighter will include an anti-missile laser as well as the ability to fly at very high altitudes and even in near space.
